Quantum narrative of the 80s indie film/New Age zeitgeist. This is the second volume in the Kundalini Awakening trilogy following “Champagne Tango” (1992) and preceding “Wolf in the Bottle”. There will be a promotion on NetGalley in April.
A reluctant Icon tries out her new name Astara Dawn on an irresistible English actor while stuck in a holding pattern on a flight into Los Angeles. Awaiting her on the ground is a Hollywood studio sublet filled with mystical books and a freelance job as a script reader. As she settles into her new home and starts to explore the city, Astara stumbles into the zeitgeist of 1980s New Age Movement and the birth of a dynamic new Hollywood era of the indie film.
Astara’s freelance lifestyle is guided by a universal vision—to become the writer, director, producer, and star of her own movie. However, she learns that outer success in achieving this goal is predicated by the inner process of awakening; as Astara begins to see herself as the heroine of her original Hollywood story, she is rewarded with an evolving consciousness guiding her into a quantum reality: consciousness becoming aware of itself. This is where the new quantum era of the transformative novel comes in play. The quest for freedom busts through all existing categories…forcing the protagonist to invent a new literature chronicling an ever-evolving consciousness. As she pushes through obstacles with the help of a healer, she begins to understand the affliction propelling her to the edge of psychosis was actually a kundalini awakening. The awareness of the Self gains a new holistic perspective on the dynamic between inner and outer informed by a steady trail of synchronicities providing a linear structure to her creation of her new identity summed up in the title of her script, “Astara is Born.” Surmounting the obstacles on the path of Self-mastery has a requirement: newly defining the contemporary literary heroine as Bringer of the Dawn, filtering the new value of an evolving consciousness sourced in the twenty-first century icon of the hieros gamos (sacred marriage).
Kundalini Awakening trilogy of meta-novels pioneer a quantum style of storytelling in which a female protagonist becomes aware of her evolving consciousness, a higher form of intelligence scientists now refer to as metacognition.
